In line with this year’s Earth Day theme 'Our Power, Our Planet' we're inviting you to discover how the University is leading the way towards a cleaner, greener future. This guided tour will be led by Ben, the University’s Energy and Utilities Manager, offering a unique insight into how we generate and manage energy on campus.
🔍 What to expect:
See the University's Combined Heat and Power (CHP) gas engines and extensive heat network in action.
Learn how the Energy Centre has played a key role in cutting carbon emissions and supporting our journey toward Net Zero.
Explore the technical challenges and future opportunities in running a sustainable, resilient energy system for a modern university.
This is a great opportunity to get up close to some of the University's most impressive infrastructure and gain a deeper understanding of the real-world impact of renewable and efficient energy solutions.
🛑 Important safety note: The Energy Centre is an active boiler house. Please wear appropriate footwear for safety.
📢 Please note: Spaces are limited, so we kindly ask that you only sign up if you plan to attend. If you can no longer make it, please let us know as soon as possible at sustainability@liverpool.ac.uk so we can offer your place to someone else.
