As part of the Sustainable campus and operations Day themed around the University of Liverpool’s new Sustainability Strategy, join us on a guided tour of the University's Energy Centre, led by the University's Carbon and Energy Officer - Ben.
Learn how the Energy Centre has successfully reduced the University’s carbon emissions and discover what we are doing to decarbonise our campus during Sustainability Week 2025!
This tour will give participants a deeper understanding of the important role our combined heat and power (CHP) gas engines and heat network play in meeting the daily energy demands of the campus. It’s a fantastic opportunity to see the impressive large-scale plant and equipment up close while learning about the energy and carbon-saving benefits of operating these systems.
The visit will also explore the challenges universities face in operating energy centres, including adapting to future energy demands, improving climate change resilience, and meeting Net Zero carbon targets.
Please note: This is a working boiler house, so appropriate footwear is required for safety.
Photography: There will be a photographer on site taking pictures at this week's events.
