Delegates will descend on Liverpool in their thousands for the European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS) conference in 2027, which coincides with the Management School’s 25th birthday.
ULMS was chosen to host EGOS 2027 following a competitive bid process that examined the extensive research expertise of the local organising committee, campus facilities, the ability to accommodate up to 3,000 visiting international delegates and the cultural offer of the city of Liverpool.
This is the first time since 1999 that the conference has been hosted at an English University, with previous host cities including Milan and Athens.
EGOS is a scholarly association which aims to further the advancement of knowledge about organizations, organizing and the contexts in which organizations operate. It has more than 3,000 members from 62 different countries.
The University of Liverpool Management School has strong ties with EGOS, with dedicated chairs in organizational studies and organizational theory.
The 2027 EGOS conference, taking place in July, will host delegates at the University of Liverpool campus but also across the city in iconic Liverpool venues such as St George’s Hall.
The Management school will be supported in delivering the conference by the award-winning Abbey Conference and Events. They are part of the Abbey Group, who are Ireland & the UK’s largest inbound tour operator with offices in Dublin and Liverpool.
Professor Julia Balogun, Dean of the Management School said: “We’re delighted that we’ve been been selected to host EGOS 2027. This will be a pivotal year for the Management School as we celebrate our 25th anniversary.
“I’m really pleased that the School’s excellence in the area of organizational studies has been recognised and we can’t wait to welcome delegates to our campus and our fantastic city.”
