This year’s conference features a line-up of external and internal speakers, workshop sessions and networking opportunities.

Communications and marketing Professional Services colleagues are invited to the upcoming community of practice conference on Wednesday 3 July 2024, from 9am until 3.45pm. The conference will take place in the Management School (building 427/square F2 on the University’s city campus map).

The event, which follows the community’s successful conferences over the past two years, features a line-up of external and internal speakers, workshop sessions, networking opportunities and refreshments throughout the day.

We’ll hear external speaker Antonia Dixey of Participation People and her team of Young Consultants deliver a keynote session, Digital Natives Decoded: Revolutionising University Engagement for the Next Generation, sharing a range of valuable insights and tips on how to deliver communications and marketing that truly connects with young audiences.

Penny Eccles of Marketing Partnership, a higher education marketing expert, will deliver a keynote on Crafting a Compelling University Brand Narrative across multiple teams, supporting our efforts to build a loyal following across our many audiences.

And Craig Evans, Vice President Communications at Liverpool Football Club, will be sharing insights into his role managing the reputation of one of the world’s most famous sporting institutions.

There will also be a choice of masterclasses delivered by Antonia and her team, and by Penny, to take a deeper dive into how to put theory into practice in your role.

And there will be a choice of workshops delivered by colleagues from within the University – with Laura Mallaber and Jack Ward focusing on developing impactful video for social media, and Jo Brown and Kate Mizen exploring best practice in staff and student communications.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided and we encourage you to network with the community during this time.

Please wear/bring your staff card and wear your name badge if you have one, as in the interests of sustainability we won’t be providing dedicated name badges on the day.

We look forward to welcoming you to the conference.
