This will be followed by a longer talk by Dr Eoghan Ahern (University Teacher in Irish at the Institue of Irish Studies) on "The Irish Language: From Prehistory to the Present".
Tá lúcháir ar Institiúid an Léinn Éireannaigh, Ollscoil Learpholl, tráthnóna de chainteanna ar an nGaeilge a chomh-óstáil le Conradh na Gaeilge Learpholl. Tabhair faoi deara go mbeidh na cainteanna i nGaeilge agus i mBéarla. Beidh sólaistí ar fáil roimh ré.
Cuirfear tús leis an imeacht le “Focail ón nGaeilge a fuair a mbealach isteach sa Bhéarla/Scouse” – caint ghairid faoi thionchar na Gaeilge ar chanúint Learpholl le Patrick Clancy (Rúnaí – Craobh Learpholl de Chonradh na Gaeilge).
Ina dhiaidh sin beidh caint níos faide ón Dr Eoghan Ahern (Múinteoir Ollscoile le Gaeilge in Institiúid an Léinn Éireannaigh) ar “An Ghaeilge: Ón Réamhstair go dtí an Lá Inniu”.
