Click on "Create a calendar file" and your browser will download a .ics file for this event.
Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".
Google Calendar: download the file, then go into your calendar. On the left where it says "Other calendars" click on the arrow icon and then click on Import calendar. Click on Browse and select the .ics file, then click on Import.
Apple Calendar: The file may open automatically with an option to save it to your calendar. If not, download the file, then you can either drag it to Calendar or import the file by going to File >Import > Import and choosing the .ics file.
The University of Liverpool (founded in 1881) has benefited significantly from wealth and other advantages derived from colonialism and the enslavement of people. In some cases, this has taken the form of benefaction from those directly involved in these activities, or from their descendants. This connection is being interrogated by university researchers and the local community including the immense efforts and data collection done by the Liverpool Black History Research Group.
This history is one that impacts not only the university but the city of Liverpool in its entirety and as such should be influenced and directed by all.
The primary objective of this event is to discuss how you would like to see this research conducted, what stories you want see highlighted, and in what manner the findings should be articulated. We will host conversations around the contents of the university archives, objects in the collection connected to slavery, and the ongoing research conducted by the Liverpool Black History Research Group.
