Biography
Caroline graduated with an Honours Degree in Zoology from the University of Aberdeen in 1981 before completing a PhD at the Rowett Research Institute in 1986. After working as a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Leeds investigating the seasonality of reproduction in sheep, Caroline completed a temporary lectureship at the Zoological Society of London investigating reproductive techniques in deer and ungulates. She was then appointed as a Senior Lecturer at John Moore’s University in Liverpool where she investigated the seasonality of reproduction in Stallions and metabolism & thermoregulation in horses. During this time she also completed a veterinary degree at the University of Liverpool, graduating in 2003.
After a period working in private veterinary practice, Caroline was appointed as Senior Lecturer in Equine Reproduction and Animal Science at the University of Liverpool in 2004. Caroline is also a Diplomate of the European College of Animal Reproduction and runs the equine reproductive clinical service.
