Centre for Global Eco-Innovation (CGE)

The Centre for Global Eco-Innovation (CGE) was The Innovatory’s original programme that ran between 2012 and 2015. CGE was a £10million ERDF part-funded programme that spanned the North West and was delivered in partnership with Lancaster University and Inventya, a business development consultancy based in Warrington. Through this we were able to support over 300 companies which included 25 industry-led low carbon PhD projects at Liverpool.

During that time the programme won a number of awards: 

  • RCUK Impact Award for Outstanding Knowledge Exchange and Commercialisation
  • Green Gown Award for Eco-Innovative Research
  • University of Liverpool Impact Award. 

And was highlighted in a BEIS Science and Innovation Audit as an exemplar approach to clean growth collaborative research and knowledge exchange. 

Through the programme we secured inward investment of over £4million, were responsible for over 300 new jobs, and over 40,000 tonnes of reduced CO2 emmisions.
