About
I am interested in studying the water cycle in the polar region in terms of numerical models as well as field data. I use physics-based models to understand the runoff generation processes in the polar region. During my PhD, I worked on high-altitude Himalayan glaciers and their influence on the downstream rivers. Also, I worked on the glacier-related hazards in the high mountain region using a mathematical model that potentially be useful for the nearby population, infrastructure, etc.
I am currently working on understanding the thermal profiles of the ice layer in the Arctic region. This includes understanding the meltwater generation, retention, and runoff generation processes. This type of study is very important in the context of meltwater contribution to the sea-level rise in the warming climate.
