Research Overview

Mark is currently working on the SUBDENSE (Suburban Densification) research project as part of a partnership between Liverpool University, TU Dortmund University, National Institute of Geographic and Forest Information (IGN)/University Gustave Eiffel and IOER Dresden. This project seeks to understand how suburban areas can become denser given the polyrationalities of spaces, actors and policies.SUBDENSE website

Mark has previously worked on the Financing Clean Air project here at Liverpool, which was funded via JPI Urban Europe in a partnership which included Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, University of Paris Est/Ecole d’Urbanisme de Paris, Radboud University, Tongji University, and XJTLU. This project focused on understanding how land value capture can contribute to cleaner and more sustainable urban living.
