School of Environmental Sciences Mentoring Programme
With the growing need for academic mentoring in schools, the School of Environmental Sciences (SOES) developed a new mentoring programme.
We specially selected and trained some of our undergraduate students to mentor pupils from years 10-12, with mid-to-high ability. We chose to work with some of our Widening Participation partner schools and the subject areas covered are currently Geography and Biology. The mentor sessions are delivered online over a period of 8-10 weeks and the sessions are tailored specifically to the pupils’ interests/needs.
To help continue to develop and improve the SOES Mentoring Programme, we request that mentors, mentees, parents/guardians and teachers/tutors complete the relevant Evaluation Form. Your feedback is important to us and will help us to invest in future programmes.
Please contact the SOES Outreach and Public Engagement lead, the Marketing and Communications Administrator or the Management Services Team (listed below) to discuss anything related to the SOES Mentoring Programme.
