MA Applied Linguistics and TESOL

“The MA Applied Linguistics and TESOL course at the University of Liverpool has exposed me to numerous possibilities in the field of English Language teaching. I had the privilege of learning from esteemed lecturers, authors, and researchers in the field of TESOL. They have supported my tenacity for knowledge and provided opportunities for further development; as a result, I have acquired a solid theoretical and practical foundation.

This MA has enhanced my understanding of pedagogical approaches in second language teaching (ELT) through modules like Methods in English Language Teaching, Second Language Acquisition, and Testing and Assessment. Additionally, I have been introduced to several new areas that align with my personal interest, such as Lexis and Vocabulary, Literature in ELT and Discourse Analysis.

This course has strengthened my approach to research, challenged my critical thinking skills and equipped me with the necessary competencies for future research projects. I am confident that I now possess the necessary skills to pursue a career in English language teaching globally. These skills will also serve as a launch pad for further educational opportunities that I plan to pursue.”
