Conversation strategies and communicative competence

This project is a an investigation of the effects of teaching conversation strategies and the language used to realise them as a means for developing conversation skills in learners of English as second language.

The strategies taught and language used have been developed from spoken corpus research. It has so far involved collaboration with learners from Kanda University of International Studies (Japan) and teachers from over twenty global locations. Results will be published in a forthcoming book.
