ENGL373 Children's Literature: Student Projects 2023

Amongst the buzz of Graduation day we managed to catch up with Maddie Cooper (BA English Literature) and get a photo with her poster 'Gardens in Children's Literature' which is part of a collection of work from the third year Children's Literature module, currently on display on the first floor of 19 Abercromby Square. 

As part of the third year Children's Literature module (ENGL373) students are asked to produce either: 

  • A picture book for pre-school readers  
  • An extract from a longer novel  
  • A chapter book for primary aged children  
  • A display poster for a public library  

All of these skills-based assessments are informed by student research in the Special Collections and Archives in the Sydney Jones Library, where they learn about the history of children's books and are shown how to access and use archival material.
