Doctoral student wins national poetry prize
Jennifer Lee Tsai, a doctoral candidate in the English Department and member of the Centre for New and International Writing, has won the 2022 biennial Women Poets' Prize from the Rebecca Swift Foundation.
Jennifer’s second pamphlet, La Mystérique, was recently published by Guillemot Press. This short collection ‘moves between Hong Kong, China and Liverpool and across generations to explore dual cultural and linguistic heritages. The meditations, ghosts and memories of this sequence form a spiritual quest -- a longing -- weaving together mystical texts with the poet’s family history.’
