Liverpool Literary Festival kicks off with international best-selling author Sarah Perry

The University of Liverpool is delighted to welcome the international best-selling author, Sarah Perry, to campus for the Liverpool Literary Festival this autumn.
On Friday 4 October at 7pm Sarah will discuss her latest novel, Enlightenment.
Longlisted for the 2024 Booker Prize and recently serialised as BBC Radio 4’s Book at Bedtime, Enlightenment is a mysterious story of unrequited love, faith and science.
Described by author Sarah Hall as a “complete masterwork”, this the discussion about this remarkable novel is not to be missed.
At the Literary Festival, Sarah will be in conversation with Dr Matthew Bradley, Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool’s Department of English.
Sarah said: “I’m delighted to be coming along to the Liverpool Literary Festival this October and am looking forward to a great discussion.”
Sarah has written the novels Melmoth, The Essex Serpent, After Me Comes the Flood, and the non-fiction Essex Girls. She is a winner of the Waterstone’s Book of the Year Award and the British Book of the Year Award and has been nominated for major literary prizes including the Women’s Prize for Fiction, the Dylan Thomas Prize, the Folio Prize and the Costa Novel Award.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and has a PhD in Creative Writing.
