Entry requirements

If you don't meet the English language requirements for your intended academic course, one of our Pre-sessional English courses can help you achieve the required level.

The length of Pre-sessional English course you require will depend on:

  • The English language requirements for your intended academic course. You can check this on our course pages or find it in your offer letter
  • Your current English language proficiency, based on your most recent IELTS Academic test or equivalent English language test.

Typically, you won't need to complete a Pre-sessional English course if you're from a majority English speaking country.

English language entry profiles

The University has four different English language entry profiles. Almost all of our courses, with a few exceptions, have English language requirements aligned to one of these profiles.

To find the length of Pre-sessional English course you require for your intended academic course, choose the relevant entry profile from the options below. Entry requirements are shown for six different lengths of course.

Please note that it's not always possible to offer all course lengths every year. Course dates for summer courses will be available in January.
