IELTS on computer
IELTS, the world's most popular high-stakes Secure English Language Test (SELT) for work, study and migration, can now be taken via computer.
The IELTS on computer test is available more frequently and with faster results – typically within three to five days.
The IELTS on computer is the exact same test as the IELTS on paper exam, but instead of writing your answers on paper, you'll type them on a computer.
If you select this option, you'll take the listening, reading and writing sections on a computer, but the speaking test will still be face-to-face with a trained IELTS Examiner as this is the most effective way to assess your speaking skills.
We're continuously committed to ensuring that IELTS is available to everyone. If you're someone who has special requirements, please register for IELTS on paper. This option is available worldwide and serves the needs of all test takers.
Locations, times and days vary for computer-delivered tests. For up-to-date information on our IELTS on computer tests, please visit the Online Registration System.
Upon booking, detailed information about the test will be emailed to you at least five working days before the test.
How it works - computer-delivered IELTS
The official IELTS website has collated a number of videos to help you understand how the Listening, Reading and Writing sections appear on computer, as well as showing you how to use the help option, making notes or highlighting text during the test.
