Dr Wang's research focuses on smart, resilient and sustainable transport infrastructures, with specific interests in the following topics.
Intelligent transport infrastructure systems
• Self-sensing/self-monitoring autonomous infrastructure system
• Energy-harvesting systems in roadway and bridge
• Modular integrated construction.
Sustainable construction materials
• Novel, green and high-performance pavement materials
• Circularity in construction materials
• Environmental impact assessment of infrastructure materials and structures.
Climate resilient pavements
• Incorporating climate projections into pavement design and maintenance
• Low-impact development of pavement
• Pavement management system and digital twin.
