Liverpool Alumni Women Engineers: building a bright future
Two alumni from Liverpool University’s School of Engineering have been interviewed to highlight the opportunities for women in engineering in an article published recently in Engineering and Technology Magazine (E&T).
Emma Shires, who studied aerospace engineering at the School of Engineering, has combined her knowledge of aerodynamics with her love of sport and is now an engineer for the International Tennis Federation.
Nadine Young, studied engineering with product design and is now a graduate mechanical engineer, in the Innovation and Development Team at Babcock International.
Nadine was part of Liverpool’s School of Engineering Formula Student UK Business Event Champions, whose team came 1st in the overall business presentation out of 98 universities.
Both Emma and Nadine are champions for the Elite Engineering Programme (EEP), the UK’s engineering education programme. EEP aims to raise the profile of engineering as a career pathway and encourage more people to discover the opportunities available in engineering.
