Abstract
In only six years, crowdfunding has evolved from a relatively unknown term to one of the most lucrative investment models in existence. It is responsible for billions of investment worldwide and offers a low risk and accessible funding opportunity for start-ups. Despite a dramatic increase in crowdfunding popularity, however, only 27% of all launched campaigns reach their funding target. In this talk, Hannah will summarise several years of research to offer guidance for successful crowdfunding. She will explain the crowdfunding model and the different forms of crowdfunding before identifying the best crowdfunding websites or “crowdfunding platforms”. Following this, strategies for constructing crowdfunding campaigns will be proposed along with proven hints and tips for reaching a funding target.
