Ethnographic Studies of Science and Technology - SOCI521

Instructor: Dr Ciara Kierans

This module introduces postgraduate students to the role of ethnographic research within this expanding field, looking at key scholars as well as theoretical, conceptual and empirical concerns.

Drawing from ethnographic research in anthropology and sociology, we focus on foundational ethnographic texts in this field, theoretical and analytical concerns and arguments, and the integrated character of methods, analysis and writing in ethnographic inquiry.

This module is an option for the Masters in Social Research Methods, and is also open for non-credited attendance to postgraduate students in the university.
