Yesterday we celebrated International Women's Day 2020, and we took some time to think about two great female figures from both Electrical Engineering and Computer Science history.
Edith Clarke:
We can think of Edith Clarke, the first woman to earn an electrical engineering degree. She was also the first female professor of electrical engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.
Ada Lovelace:
We also remember Ada lovelace, who has been called "the first computer programmer" for writing an algorithm for a computing machine in the mid-1800s.
However, we are proud as a School to constantly strive towards recognising and celebrating good employment practice for women.
