Careers & Employability have announced that the Chairman and CEO of The Coca Cola Company, James Quincey - a proud University of Liverpool graduate, will take part in an online conversation on Monday 31st January (12pmEST/5pm GMT).

James, who studied BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering at the University graduating in 1986, will be interviewed by U.S.-based alumnus Dr. Brian Jones (BEng Hons Mechanical Engineering 1961, PhD 1965). James will discuss his career journey since graduation and his role leading one of the world’s most long established and recognisable companies. The live session will be interactive, and James is looking forward to taking questions from the audience.

For our U.S. based alumni we’re also pleased to announce that this event will be the start of a series of new activity with the launch of our American Alumni network. The network will be an opportunity for U.S.- based graduates to meet regularly, initially through a series of live virtual events being hosted by our U.S. Ambassador Dr. Brian Jones. We hope that through this programming American alumni will have the opportunity to build up a strong network with fellow graduates based in the U.S. It is intended that the programme of events will eventually include some in-person activity.

Commenting on the event, James said “I’m looking forward to meeting with University of Liverpool students and graduates from across the world at the event in January. I look back on my time in Liverpool with huge affection and recognize that my degree played a major part in getting me to where I am today. It will be a great opportunity for me to look back on my career with you all and share some career advice. I’m also excited to be launching the new U.S. Alumni chapter for the University - I hope it’s the start of a really successful project. I look forward to seeing you all at the end of January!”
