Professional Staff

Colleagues in Professional Services roles contribute to teaching and learning at the University of Liverpool in many ways. You might be working in Careers, Library, or Student Services, interacting directly with students. Learning and Educational Developers might also be supporting module or programmes teams to implement aspects of the curriculum or you could be supporting students with disabilities to access learning. The following CPD pathways indicate valuable activities to support your learning and teaching progression at different career stages, including through taught programmes and selfdirected learning, as well as networking and leadership opportunities.

Introduction to Supporting Student Learning (Stage 1)

Introduction to Supporting Student Learning, also known as Stage 1 of Foundations of Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, has been designed to address some of the foundational knowledge and essential skills needed for effective teaching in higher education settings.

Foundations of Learning and Teaching (Stage 2)

The FLTHE programme has been designed to support staff new to teaching and those with closely defined teaching responsibilities, such as visiting lecturers, professional services, clinician-educators, demonstrators, and postgraduate research students who teach, to gain Associate Fellowship. This part of the programme builds on Stage 1 through reflective experiential learning to support further development of inclusive and effective educational practice.

PGCAP

PGCAP

The Postgraduate Certificate Academic Practice (PGCAP) is a Level 7 qualification, accredited by Advance HE for Fellowship, which can be taken as an exit award, or part of the University's PGDip/MA.
