Teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level and supervision of PGR students forms a core part of your role. You may be on a Teaching and Scholarship or a Teaching and Research, or some variation of these contracts.

Postgraduate or Postdoctoral Researchers

Early career academic with limited teaching experience. You may be supporting student learning through demonstrating in laboratories, supervising student projects, running seminars or tutorial groups, or doing some marking within your department.

Clinical Educator Clinical Educator

Clinical Educator

Primarily teaching in a clinical setting or on clinical programmes. You will be working to support student learning in medical, healthcare professions, or veterinary settings. You may share time in your role between healthcare clinical contexts and the university.

Professional Staff Professional Staff

Professional Staff

Involved in supporting student learning within an academic department or as a member of a central service. For example, you might be supporting student learning through careers development, working on study skills or research training, supporting academic language skills, or providing support for students with disabilities. Technician Technician

Technician

Technical staff who support student learning through sharing their technical skills and expertise within a particular disciplinary setting. Your role might include designing and setting up lab practicals, supporting students to complete practicals, giving feedback to students on technical aspects of experiments or procedures, supporting student projects.
