The funding will be used to support core activities within the centre, namely salaries for core staff that manage the work of the centre on a daily basis. The funding has been awarded until February 2026 and sustainability planning has already begun to ensure the longevity of the EATC4Children long after the funding from Versus Athritis has ended.
The EATC4Children still has the same vision to be a world class experimental medicine centre in all that it does to transform outcomes for the children and young people affected by childhood arthritis and related MSK conditions. To achieve this, we will work in partnership with children and young people to deliver impactful research based on, developed, and informed by patient need; identify tools that enables patient stratification and treatments for patients; educate the next generation of translational scientists and doctors and the wider society about experimental medicine.
