Armel Beunas

Armel Beunas was born in St Vallier, France, in 1960. He received the Engineering Degree from the Centre Universitaire des Sciences et Techniques of Clermont- Ferrand (CUST) in 1984, graduating in 1985 from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées of Toulouse (INSA, DEA Microelectronics).
In 1987, Armel joined Thales Electron Devices, as a development and product engineer in the Crossed Fields Tubes Activity, moving to the Klystron Development Group in 1995, where he was in charge of TH1801 multi-beam klystron development in the frame of the TESLA project. In 1998, he was appointed as manager of the High Power Klystrons Development Group and then from 2002 to 2010, as Product Line Manager for Scientific Application. During this period, CW and long pulsed RF sources (klystron & gyrotron) developments have been achieved for several Synchrotron Light Sources in Europe and in Asia, for LHC, SNS, HERA, MAMI, CTF3, XFEL (in progress), as well as for Tore Supra and ITER (in progress), in the Fusion domain.
Since the beginning of 2010, Armel’s activities have focused on the development of a new product line for Proton Linac in UHF band.
