At the recent Association of Dental Education in Europe (ADEE) conference hosted in Liverpool, it was announced that the University of Liverpool School of Dentistry had won one of the Oral Health Professional Educators’ ‘Practice Green’ Awards.

These awards are aimed at acknowledging institution’s positive, sustainability initiatives in both a clinical and academic setting. The School of Dentistry was presented the award for our adherence to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the creation of our own Sustainability Strategy which will aim to see us at net zero carbon emissions by 2035.

The ADEE also noted how the school actively encourages reuse and repair as well as our focus on waste reduction, sustainable travel solutions, and efforts to reduce the carbon impact of our energy systems.

The award reflects the hard work that the School of Dentistry is doing to mitigate its carbon footprint and actively look for ways to operate in a more sustainable manner as we remain committed to achieving our sustainability goals.
