This module provides a thorough examination of the core concepts of responsible leadership, distinguishing it from management and exploring various interpretations of ‘responsibility’. Students will develop a strong conceptual framework and critical thinking skills to address the complexities of modern organisations and learn to apply responsible leadership principles to real-world challenges, utilising case studies and critical social scientific thinking. Core topics include, foundational theories and contemporary issues, including network organisations, new technologies, AI, and ecological responsibility. Here, students can develop an enhanced awareness of the challenge of leadership in conditions of complexity and uncertainty.
