This module is about the parasites and pathogens that normally infect wild animals and plants and which cause disease in
people and livestock. The module will consider the different types of parasites and pathogens; how, when, and where they
infect hosts; the evolution (and co-evolution) of parasites and hosts, and host responses and adaptation to infection. The
module is taught through lectures and workshops, giving students the opportunity to discuss concepts and practice
problem solving. The assessment consists of producing a poster (or equivalent) on an example parasite or pathogen and a
Briefing Note on a real-world infection scenario.
