Ethics in Translational Medicine

Code: MDSC411

Credits: 15

Semester: Semester 1

This module addresses particular ethics needs generated by translational medicine projects. It is aimed specifically at early career researchers, but it will offer a valuable platform for all researchers involved in translational medicine projects. As such, it can be taken as a CPD option, or as an optional (15c) module, as part of the MSc Global Healthcare Ethics programme.

The topics explored will include ethical issues generated by new biotechnologies, big data and cross-cutting research. The module will also prepare students to understand how ethics can be incorporated in successful grant applications and delivery.

This module particularly addresses the needs of students involved in translational medicine projects, early career researchers working in this area, and other students interested in new ethical developments around translational medicine.
