Veronica Del Angel Hernandez
Veronica joined the Cooper group in 2021 as a PDRA.She did her bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Chemical Engineering from the University of Guanajuato (2012-2017). During her bachelor’s degree she did a year abroad at L’ École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Paris (ENSCP), France. In 2013, she attended the Product and Process Design Concepts in Life Science & (Bio)Chemical Industries at Delft University of Technology, Delft, Netherlands. In 2014, she did an internship at L’Université Pierre et Marie Curie in France, where she studied Zn(II) and Cl– complexes in water with Dr. Jean-Pierre Simonin. In 2015, she attended the Mexican Particle Accelerator School with the objective of learning, studying, and designing a particle accelerator. Her research background lies in the synthesis of metallic complexes (Mg(II), Cr(III), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II)m Cu(II), Zn(II)), polyurethane formulation, lixiviate characterization, water treatment, and product design. She did her Ph.D. at the University of Bristol with Prof. Charl F. J. Faul. Her work focused on the design of conjugated microporous materials for carbon dioxide capture and its electrochemical conversion to fuels and feedstock.
