Lyubomir joined the Cooper and Ward research groups as a PhD student in Chemistry in 2023 and is working on optimizing drug synthesis reactions by using artificial intelligence in the Autonomous Chemistry Laboratory.

He did his undergraduate degree in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Leeds where he focused his research on the design and synthesis of novel anti-cancer agents in the form of protein-protein interaction inhibitors. During his time in Leeds, he developed a particular interest in coding with Python, so decided to do a postgraduate degree in Drug Design at UCL where he was able to expand his knowledge in programming by developing machine learning platforms that can predict the druggability of target proteins.

Apart from research, he is very passionate about sports and health. I love to go to the gym, play tennis, hike and climb.
