Irshad Hussain awarded a tenured associate professor position

‌‌Irshad Hussain, Chair of Department of Chemistry at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan, has been awarded a tenured associate professor position.

LUMS is the most modern and premier private research university in Pakistan, with its internationally recognized programs in business, humanities, law and social sciences. LUMS launched its Science & Engineering School, now known as Syed Babar Ali (SBA) School of Science & Engineering (SSE,http://lums.edu.pk/sse/index.php), in 2008 and its undergraduate students have already made their way to prestigious international institutions including Harvard, MIT, Berkley, Cambridge, Oxford, UIUC, Cornell, UMass, CMU, MSU and UPen etc.

Almost 100% of undergraduate students in the Chemistry Department, currently led by Prof. Hussain, who have undertaken postgraduate studies, have secured fully funded PhD scholarships in many of the above mentioned institutions.

Irshad graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2005 under the supervision of Professors Andy Cooper and Mathias Brust, and was one of the most productive graduate students in the Chemistry department at that time. We congratulate Irshad on his success since leaving Liverpool.
