If you're fascinated by the art of Ancient Egypt and eager to delve into the history and culture behind it, this course is for you.
Led by Harry Lillington, "Introduction to Ancient Egyptian Art" will guide you through different perspectives on Ancient Egyptian art, offering a deep dive into the rich visual culture of this ancient civilization. You will explore a wide array of artworks and objects, examining how they evolved over Egypt’s history. From the temple reliefs to detailed everyday objects, this course provides a comprehensive overview of Ancient Egypt's art and images. No prior knowledge is needed—just a passion for art and history.

Week 3: Old Kingdom
Week 4: First Intermediate Period
Week 5: Middle Kingdom
Week 6: Second Intermediate Period
Week 7: New Kingdom
Week 8: Late Period

Course Lecturer: Harry Lillington
Harry Lillington completed both his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Auckland. His main research interest is on First Intermediate Period stelae and Egyptian imagery, though his interests span all forms of Ancient Egyptian art. Currently, he works within the university sector, connecting researchers and institutions with funding opportunities. Despite this shift in focus, Harry has remained passionate about Ancient Egyptian art and continues to engage with the subject.
