Overview
While this short course builds upon the foundation laid in 'Storytelling Fundamentals: From Planning to the Page', it warmly welcomes writers of all levels. No prior enrolment in the preceding course is required to participate in this one! Designed for those actively engaged in crafting stories or novels, regardless of experience, this short course offers a deeper exploration into advanced aspects of plot, theme, and style, alongside invaluable insights into the editing and publication processes.
Structured in a familiar format of reading, discussion, and workshop exercises, each session provides the time to hone writing techniques, and there are ample opportunities for participants to share their work and receive constructive feedback throughout the course. Whether you're polishing a manuscript or embarking on a new literary journey, join us for an enriching experience aimed at honing your storytelling skills and advancing your writing aspirations.

Course Lecturer: Dr Em Segar
Em Segar has been teaching continuing education classes in creative writing for 15 years, and lectures in genre and digital fiction at Edge Hill University. Their PhD is in interactive fiction, and their own practice is primarily speculative fiction. They are currently writing an interactive YA utopia.
