China has one of the largest economies in the world and Chinese is a working language for the United Nations.
University of Liverpool's Department for Languages, Cultures and Film has a Chinese Studies programme which can provide you with the skills to engage fully with China from different dimensions and perspectives, thereby opening the door to truly international employment opportunities.
A Year Abroad in China is compulsory for Chinese Studies at 50%, and highly recommended for Chinese Studies at 25%. This can be spent at University of Liverpool and Xi'an Xiatong University's partnership Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU).
During the Year Abroad at XJTLU, you will fully immerse yourself in Chinese culture and society, enhance your language abilities, and follow courses on a whole range of topics, such as Modern Chinese Literature, Business and Enterprise in China, China's Digital Revolution and even Classical Chinese.
Through combined degrees, you can study Chinese with many subjects, for example: French, German, Italian, Spanish, English, Business, History, Politics, Philosophy, Economics, Law, Sociology, Film Studies, Communication and Media. You can also learn Chinese with two other languages as part of the BA in Modern Languages Triple Subject.
