Professor Michelle Henning Wins Best Record Cover Award 2023
Professor Michelle Henning from the Department of Communication and Media has won first place in the Best Art Vinyl Award for her work on PJ Harvey’s album, I Inside The Old Year Dying.
Picked by a panel of artists, designers and music industry experts, and presented at a ceremony at the Hari in Belgravia, London, the work was chosen from a shortlist of 50 nominations of the very best in vinyl record cover art from 2023.

Alongside writing and teaching, Professor Henning works in installation, photography and record cover design. This is her third album cover for PJ Harvey following Let England Shake (which won the Mercury Music Prize) and The Hope Six Demolition Project.
