About

Datta joined the Rosseinsky research group in September 2019 as a research associate. His work focuses on the design and synthesis of new peptide scaffold linkers and their flexible ordered metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). These MOFs are being used for their applications in selective sorption and separation of small molecules. He has also developed MOFs-packed chromatographic columns to achieve this purpose, leading to potential advancements in the field of MOF chemistry.
Datta earned his PhD degree in chemical sciences in May 2019 from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Mohali, Mohali, India. His primary research interests include the synthesis of flexible and semirigid bis(tridentate) ligands and related MOFs. During his PhD work, he developed expertise in the design and synthesis of functional organic linkers for novel multi-dimensional MOFs. He also investigated the potential applications of these MOFs, particularly in the field of heterogeneous catalysis for significant C-C bond-forming organic transformations.
