Policy and public health

In the arena of policy and public health we strive to promote evidence based interventions to tackle health issues routed in malnutrition, social inequality and the commercial promotion of unhealthy diets particularly to children. Our partners range from Sustainable Food City Liverpool to the World Health Organisation (WHO).

We have advised policy makers, given evidence to the Department of Health and Public Health England and appeared before Parliamentary Select Committee on Health. We do not partner with industry in this work stream due to conflicts of interest. Liverpool is currently examining the extent, nature and impact of marketing via TV, online and cinema on children’s food choices and health across the country (funded by Cancer Research UK).
