Clive Newton illustrates the use of interactive video, video essays and discussion groups for language teaching
On 6th November 2019, more than 30 teachers and prospective teachers gathered to hear Clive Newton describe some new and innovative activities he uses to integrate flipped and looped teaching practices in teacher training classes. Taking the audience on a journey through a range of flipped and re-flipped technology enhanced activities, he demonstrated how such exercises outside the classroom can create valuable space for face-to-face, group-based learning. The talk concluded with a lively discussion based on student evaluations, showcasing the benefits as well as infrastructural issues arising from the process.
