University of Liverpool lecturers demonstrated the creative and innovative use of technology in their language teaching at a staff development event on 25 June 2019.
The day started with reflections by the organiser of the event, Jordi Sánchez, on the use of technology for learning, teaching and collaboration and digital fluency amongst students in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures.
Colleagues had the opportunity to share their teaching experiences, using podcasts and live polls, Instagram and Quizlet, WeChat and Wordpress. Ben McGrae from the Centre for Innovation in Education reminded colleagues of the importance of positive digital identities, and how to keep students aware of their digital footprints.
The day ended with suggestions from lecturers for additions to the existing pool of online language learning materials available to our students.
