About
As an educational developer, my work centres around curriculum enhancement, with an increasing focus on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in the curriculum. I sit on the University's Culture and Student Experience Subgroup, working towards achieving the Race Equality Charter. I support processes such as Periodic Review, new module/programme development, and TESTA, both via active involvement in existing processes and through developmental work on the curriculum processes themselves. I support educational innovation and best practice through research and dissemination via: events, communities of practice, case studies, workshops, and guidance material, and, together with Professor Gita Sedghi, Dr Zainab Hussain and Dr Monica Chavez, with input from UoL staff and students, co-created the University's Inclusive Curriculum Tool. I recently ran an Inclusive Curriculum workshop at AdvanceHE's EDI 2023 Conference with colleagues Laura Blundell, David Watson, and Student Presenter Duong Tran. I contribute to UoL committees, working groups, and task and finish groups as requested.
I have a PGCert in Online and Distance Education (Open), and over 17 years experience of working in HE in a variety of teaching and learning posts (academic, student development, curriculum development, employability, eLearning). I am passionate about how we teach and how we learn, and always looking for new ways to improve the teaching and learning experience for staff and students. I previously worked for: the University of Manchester, Cardiff University, Bangor University, the University of the West of England, and Edge Hill University.
