Summer’s out for school: Introducing H5P’s SMARTember 2024
And back we are. Did everyone have a good rest in the extended UK summer sunshine? What do you mean no! Well worry no more, because between 23rd - 27th September the Centre for Innovation in Education (CIE) are hosting several activities to coincide with H5P’s showcase event, SMARTember, taking at least some of the pressure off a return to academic business. H5P Pilot - Examples from the University so far
H5P is an easy to use tool for the creation of interactive learning resources in Canvas and elsewhere. We have been running a pilot jointly between CIE and the School of Medicine since 2022 with a number of author licenses available for staff to use.

Catching up about Canvas Connect
Just over six months ago Canvas Connect was established to support colleagues making the transition to the University’s new virtual learning environment (VLE). Now boasting nearly 200 members collaborating and sharing all things Canvas, we caught up with the two colleagues driving this collaborative space, Dr Tya Asgari and Will Moindrot, from the Centre for Innovation in Education (CIE) to find out more.

Canvas Help for Staff: More help - Fewer Clicks
Canvas Help for Staff has been a supportive shoulder for many of you as we waved bye-bye to VITAL and welcomed our shiny new Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), Canvas, to the institution in 2021. Providing you with just-in-time guidance and information on all aspects of Canvas and it’s integrations, CIE now launches a new and improved version of the course, complete with a more intuitive structure, refreshed interface, and more constructive up-to-date content.

Buddycheck Feature Update June 2022
Buddycheck is a peer evaluation tool used to help students to feedback and reflect upon the contribution of themselves and their peers towards groupwork tasks. This can be used to make assessment of groupwork fairer through increased accountability and peer-moderation of grades. It can also be used formatively as a prompt for reflection and source of feedback leading to development of teamwork skills. Buddycheck is intergrated into Canvas, and available for all staff at the University of Liverpool to use.
