Additionally, research provides evidence that clarifies how belonging and inclusion can impact on students’ academic performance, their mental-health and wellbeing, and even effect their social interactions with peers.

Treasure Island Pedagogies: Episode 24 - the one with the death penalty
In Episode 24, in addition to lightbulb moments, treasure island pedagogies/props and luxury items, our discussion included getting students to examine and debate issues, concepts from different perspectives to develop their criticality and nurture inclusivity in our classrooms, using playful learning or technologies in creative ways to the importance of physical exercise for a healthy body and mind.

Canvas Help for Staff has been a supportive shoulder for many of you as we waved bye-bye to VITAL and welcomed our shiny new Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), Canvas, to the institution in 2021. Providing you with just-in-time guidance and information on all aspects of Canvas and it’s integrations, CIE now launches a new and improved version of the course, complete with a more intuitive structure, refreshed interface, and more constructive up-to-date content.

Treasure Island Pedagogies: Episode 23 - the one with the magic box
In Episode 23, our lightbulb moments, treasure island pedagogies/props and luxury items, included team roles and skills, allowable weaknesses, facilitating students to ask their own questions, using creativity and playfulness, online collaboration tools as well as using cameras for reflection, and bringing a magic box full of surprises to inspire new connections for learning.

In Episode 22, our lightbulb moments, treasure island pedagogies/props and luxury items, included getting students engaged in cases that use personal connections, storytelling, card games where students can overwrite the rules and taking a course/programme-level approach to formative assessment; coming full circle back to campfires to tell, read and create stories that sustain us.

Liverpool Learning Summit 2023: Pre-Event
The University of Liverpool’s popular Learning Summits, which take place every January, are designed to provide a flexible, welcoming and collaborative space to explore innovative teaching practices in Higher Education, discuss pressing concerns or contemporary issues across the sector, and to generally challenge ourselves to think about university education in new or interesting ways – particularly what we can do, as teachers, to help improve our students’ overall experience.

Treasure Island Pedagogies: Episode 21 - the one with the clown
In Episode 21, in addition to lightbulb moments, treasure island pedagogies/props and luxury items, our islands included student-organised conferences, starting learning NOT at the start, getting students to practise assessment of exemplars, authentic learning, branching scenarios, discussion around in-class polling and the importance of having fun whilst learning.

Buddycheck Feature Update June 2022
Buddycheck is a peer evaluation tool used to help students to feedback and reflect upon the contribution of themselves and their peers towards groupwork tasks. This can be used to make assessment of groupwork fairer through increased accountability and peer-moderation of grades. It can also be used formatively as a prompt for reflection and source of feedback leading to development of teamwork skills. Buddycheck is intergrated into Canvas, and available for all staff at the University of Liverpool to use.
