As part of the university’s longstanding Russel Group status, producing world-leading research, it is important for groups and academics to continue developing their skills and abilities when it comes to bidding and applying for funding.
It is important that teams are able to showcase their unique expertise, highlight the skills and abilities that their bring to specific problems being addressed in funding calls, and are able to articulate this in a manner that recognises the complexities of applied research while also identifying the unique outcomes that the group is proposing. While this should always be tailored and specific to the funder’s needs, there are several principles and good practices that are important to maintain when preparing these bids.
We are here to assist and support staff to review their ongoing research plans, consider suitable plans for ongoing development, and consider ways in which to leverage existing expertise within the university to further improve the value offered within funding bids.
