Archival Theory Reading Group

The Archival Theory Reading Group was established in 2015 as an informal mechanism for discussing new works in the field of archival science.

It meets regularly throughout term time in the historic Philharmonic Dining Rooms. Meetings are open to all, and are usually attended by post-graduate students and members of the academic staff.

The group reads articles published within the last two years, unpublished works and drafts in progress. Readings may be chosen from archival science or from the broader field of information studies, with a focus on the abstract or theoretical; discussions often examine the application of these ideas to practice. Recent readings have explored affect theory, materiality and post-nationalism.
