Enterprise insights: Does your idea have a purpose?
Posted on: 15 April 2021 in Enterprise
To feel most happy and fulfilled about bringing your idea to life, you should have a purpose behind it. The purpose is not just about making money, it should go deeper into why your idea exists.
A purpose-driven idea will have a strong mission. The mission is what makes your idea different and helps guide you through the different areas of your idea and helps keep you focused.
According to Deloitte* purpose-driven, businesses are more successful. They have a more satisfied workforce and higher productivity rates. If you can successfully convey the message of the purpose of your idea, and what you stand for, it will create an emotional connection to your audience. This will help your audience or customer create a meaningful relationship, enabling them to feel like they are contributing to something much bigger than the product or service. As a result of this, they will then want more of your idea.
Some benefits of having an idea with a purpose
- Enables you to stay focused.
This will be your compass to help you navigate which direction your idea is going. It will be your guide when making decisions and help spot opportunities.
- Attracting the right audience/customer for your idea
When you make your purpose public, you can attract your target audience who will align with your idea. This is ideal as the audience believes in what you are doing and the audience will then be more attracted to buy into your idea or want to work with you.
- Helps make your idea different.
Having a strong purpose will allow your idea to stand out from other similar ideas. It will create a different story than your competition.
