Posted on: 21 January 2019 in Interview with a recruiter
IBM visited the Career Studio in order to showcase their opportunities for our students.
5 things to take away from the IBM Recruiters in Residence…
- IBM recruitment process relies heavily on showing your personality- Always be yourself!
- This will ensure that you are the right match for the company, but also that the company is the right match for you!
- Find something unique and different about the company that you like and focus on this through your answers.
- Everybody chooses Watson! Pick something about IBM that all the other candidates would not have researched about.
- Whilst we are on the topic of answers…always use the STAR method when answering questions!
- Situation-Task-Action-Result: use this technique to provide all the detail necessary and prevent the recruiter from filling in blanks.
- In a group setting do not dominate the conversation, but also do not shy away from saying anything.
- It is best to involve people that have not taken part much and time keep!
- IBMers are people people!
- Being extroverted is certainly an advantage when working in that setting.
